JOB TITLE: Casual Cricket Coach – Summer Camp Programme

At the Derbyshire Cricket Foundation (DCF) we improve lives and empower communities through cricket. We have an ambition to inspire a generation to say, “Cricket is a game for me”. We do this by serving both as the Governing Body for recreational cricket in Derbyshire, and also as a registered charity focussed on improving health, well-being, and life opportunities for people across Derbyshire. Cricket is in an exciting place with more opportunities than ever before, enabling more people to come into the game. It is constantly evolving, being played in various locations, with different formats and is now a year-round sport. It allows more people from all walks of life to pick up a bat and ball whenever they want and enjoy the game at school, in a sports hall, community centre, the local park, and of course, a club.
Derbyshire Cricket Foundation is seeking passionate and skilled Casual Cricket Coaches to assist in delivering an engaging and fun summer cricket program for young people. As a Casual Cricket Coach, you will support the camp’s main coaching team, providing individual and group training sessions while ensuring a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment for all participants.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with Coaching: Help lead cricket training sessions for children, focusing on skill development, fitness, and teamwork.
Support Program Delivery: Work alongside senior coaches to deliver age-appropriate drills, games, and activities that cater to different skill levels.
Safeguarding of Participants: Ensure the safety and well-being of participants during sessions, offering guidance and support as necessary.
Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with fellow coaches and camp staff to ensure smooth operations and delivery of the program.
Assist with Camp Operations: Support with day-to-day camp logistics, including registration, participant check-ins, and other administrative tasks as required.
Behaviour Management: Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere, ensuring that camp participants follow camp rules and guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
ECB Core / Foundation /Level 2 Coaching Qualification
Enhanced DBS Check
First Aid Qualification preferred
Completed relevant ECB Safeguarding qualifications.
Package: Flexible approach based on individual circumstances
Salary: Salary/ hourly rate to be agreed based on experience and qualifications
