Player Registration Circular – Local Player Registration
Dear All,
European T20 Premier League Limited (“ETPL”) is pleased to announce the opening of the Local Player Registration Portal for the inaugural season of the European T20 Premier League (the “League”).
The registration portal will be open from 16 June 2026 to 23 June 2026 (the “Registration Period”). The registration portal will be available at the following link: cricketconnect
During this period, all eligible cricket players from Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands are invited to register their interest in participating in the League
Eligibility – Local Players
For the purposes of the League, a “Local Player” is defined as a cricket player who is affiliated (as per ICC regulations) with any of:
Cricket Ireland
Cricket Scotland or
Royal Dutch Cricket Board (KNCB),
or has played an International Match representing any of the above National Cricket Boards within the last 18 months.
To demonstrate eligibility as a player affiliated to one of the above, players will need to satisfy one of the following:
- the player was born in Ireland, Scotland or the Netherlands;
- the player is a citizen of Ireland or the Netherlands;
- the player has had their primary and permanent home for the immediately preceding 3 years in Ireland, Scotland or the Netherlands;
- or the player has been approved by the ICC under Exceptional Circumstances to represent one of the above National Cricket Boards.
Players will be required to provide supporting documentation as part of the registration process to demonstrate that they meet these criteria.
Registration and Draft Process
By completing the registration process, a player:
agrees to be entered into the ETPL Player Registration Pool; and
consents to being considered for inclusion in, and selection through, the ETPL Player Draft.
Players may also be required to make themselves available for draft-related processes and communications as notified by ETPL.
Important Notice
Players should note the following:
Registration does not guarantee inclusion in the Player Draft.
Inclusion in the Player Draft does not guarantee selection by a Franchise.
Neither ETPL nor any Franchise shall be under any obligation to offer a contract to, or make any payment to, any player who registers or participates in the Player Draft, unless and until a formal Player Contract is executed.
Players who are not selected may be retained in a pool of potential replacement players for the League.
Draft Process
Each Franchise must select a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 8 players from the Draft to complete its squad. As a result, a minimum of 36 players will be selected during the Draft.
The ETPL Draft will operate using a “snake draft” format, which is designed to give all Franchises an equal opportunity to build their squads.
In a snake draft, the order of selection reverses after each round. For example, if a Franchise has the first pick in Round 1, it will have the last pick in Round 2. The order then reverses again in Round 3.
Salary Bands
Each Draft selection is linked to a predetermined salary band. The salary applicable to each player will be determined by the Draft position at which they are selected.
The salary bands for each Draft pick are set out below
