Grand Prairie named official home of Major League Cricket
Cognizant Major League Cricket (MLC) has announced the relocation of its headquarters to Grand Prairie, Texas, marking a major milestone in the league’s expansion across the United States.
As part of the move, Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium will host the MLC Playoffs and Championship Final, as well as 12 regular-season matches during the 2025 season, giving fans unprecedented access to live professional cricket this summer.
Expanded schedule for the 2025 MLC season
From June 20–29, 2025, Grand Prairie will host all six MLC teams, featuring international superstars like Rashid Khan, Glenn Maxwell, and Faf Du Plessis. After ten action-packed days, the regular season shifts to Broward County Stadium in Florida on July 1, before returning to Texas for the Playoffs and Championship Final on July 13.
“We’re delighted to continue making Grand Prairie the home of Cognizant Major League Cricket,” said Johnny Grave, CEO of Major League Cricket. “We look forward to another sold-out Championship Final on July 13 and are committed to enhancing the stadium for future top-tier events.”
Largest professional cricket tournament in U.S. history
Season Three of Cognizant Major League Cricket will kick off on June 12 in Oakland, California at the newly transformed Oakland Coliseum. Teams will then compete in Texas and Florida across three venues, with a record 34 matches scheduled nationwide — the largest professional cricket season ever held in the U.S.
“North Texas represents innovation, energy, and a deep love of sports,” said Anurag Jain, Co-owner of the Texas Super Kings. “This move reflects our commitment to growing cricket while creating economic opportunities in the region.”
Grand Prairie’s growing cricket legacy
Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium previously hosted four matches during the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, including the U.S.’s dramatic Super Over victory against Pakistan. A Nielsen Sports study revealed that the World Cup generated a $100.4 million economic impact in Texas, highlighting Grand Prairie’s rising status in international cricket.
Mayor Ron Jensen celebrated the announcement: “Cricket helped put Grand Prairie on the map. We look forward to another thrilling season and continued growth for the sport.”
More cricket coming to Grand Prairie
Building on this momentum, Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium will also host an international match between the U.S. Women’s team and Zimbabwe Women’s team on April 25 at 10:45 a.m. Entry is free to the public, strengthening Grand Prairie’s reputation as the heart of cricket in America.
