The ICC has announced a massive four-fold increase in prize money for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, with the total pool reaching $13.88 million — a 297% rise from the previous edition. This sets a new benchmark for women’s cricket globally.
The tournament, hosted by India from 30 September to 2 November 2025, will feature eight teams competing across five venues: Guwahati, Indore, Navi Mumbai, Visakhapatnam (India), and Colombo (Sri Lanka). Fans can now register their interest to attend via the official ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup website.
Winners to receive $4.48 million — more than Men’s World Cup 2023
The winning team will walk away with $4.48 million, a 239% jump from the $1.32 million awarded to Australia in 2022. The amount also exceeds the $4 million winners’ purse at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.
The overall prize pot has increased from $3.5 million in 2022 to $13.88 million in 2025, reinforcing the ICC’s strategy to invest significantly in the women’s game.
“This four-fold increase in prize money is a landmark moment for women’s cricket and reflects our clear commitment to its long-term growth,” said ICC Chairman Jay Shah. “Women cricketers must know they will be treated on par with men if they choose this sport professionally.”

ICC’s continued investment in women’s cricket
The increase in prize money follows the ICC’s decision to introduce pay parity ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. These strategic decisions signal a clear move towards equality and support for women athletes in cricket.
Jay Shah called on all stakeholders — including fans, media, sponsors, and national boards — to rally behind the women’s game, adding: “The uplift underscores our ambition to deliver a world-class ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup and inspire the next generation.”
