JOB TITLE: Marketing Executive

REPORTS TO: Media & Communications Manager, Chief Commercial Officer

CONTRACT:
Full time

SALARY:
£25,000 per annum

BASED AT:
The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence, Canterbury (with occasional travel)

Summary of Role:
The successful candidate will work in the Commercial department to assist in our efforts to deliver campaigns and grow audiences for Kent Cricket and The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence. You will play a role in executing innovative marketing strategies, delivering content across all of Kent Cricket’s digital channels and increase the prominence of Kent Cricket and The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence in the Kent media, business and local communities.

The successful candidate will oversee the Club’s social media channels, including but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn & YouTube.

Working closely with external agencies and our commercial, sales and marketing team, you will assist with the production of content for Kent Cricket, driving website traffic, brand engagement and conversions in line with departmental targets. You will also be crucial in supporting the production and distribution of the matchday live stream and match updates.

Other Details:

Normal working hours will be 09:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday (inclusive), including one hour unpaid lunch on each day worked. The post holder will be based at The Spitfire Ground, St. Lawrence but travel to The County Ground, Beckenham may be required to assist on match days. Due to the nature of the work, the post holder will carry out his/her/their duties as such times/days which are most effective to perform the tasks required. This may involve some out of hours work – evenings, weekends, Bank Holidays, as necessary.

Background:
Kent Cricket is one of only 18 first-class county cricket clubs in England and Wales. From our headquarters at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence in Canterbury, and with a satellite ground at The County Ground, Beckenham, we are responsible for the growth and development of all cricket across Kent and our four London Boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich and Lewisham – from community and schools’ cricket to the professional game.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
• Digital Media, Marketing and Strategy:
o You will assist in driving comprehensive marketing strategies that maximise visibility and drive engagement
o Create timely, relevant and engaging communication across all digital channels.
o Ensure positive engagement with fans and sponsors and manage the digital community
o Film and edit video content of behind the scenes, on-field and promotional footage to engage fans and encourage ticket sales, retail sales, hospitality sales etc
o Design and edit artwork for the purpose of promotion across all areas of the business
o Working with the Marketing Team, help to provide written or digital content on subjects such as player news and features and other off-field Club activities
o Proactively research and drive new thinking in audience engagement via digital and mobile platforms, including the presentation of website and mobile content

Segmentation:
o Help to develop audience segmentation to tailor marketing efforts and messages for all areas of the business
o Personalise content to resonate with specific segments and create meaningful
connections

Match day and Events Duties:
o Helping to deliver matchday coverage across owned channels, giving fans the best access on and off the field
o Distribute content across all fan screens, including kentcricket.co.uk, in-ground screens, and in-bowl screens

Communication:
o Part of the team who deliver internal and external communications to ensure that all major news stories and leadership decisions are effectively communicated

Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Personal Attributes:
• Educated to A-Level or equivalent level
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop & Adobe Premiere Pro is preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and active listening skills
• Marketing experience preferred
• Knowledge of cricket and ability to tell compelling stories
• Clear communication skills and a strong command of the English language (Fluency in English, written and spoken)
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work within a team and to contribute to the overall success of the Club
• Multitasking skills and good organisational abilities
• A desire to deliver first-class customer service
• An ability to build strong working relationships
