Lahore Qalandars unveil two university initiatives

To promote environmental sustainability and climate awareness, Lahore Qalandars has launched a large-scale plantation drive, starting with a tree plantation initiative at the University of Management and Technology (UMT) campus. This initiative aligns with the franchise’s unwavering commitment to corporate social responsibility and its role in fostering a greener future.

The tree plantation at UMT was held immediately after the Friends of Qalandars MOU Signing ceremony on 21st March. The event underscored the franchise’s dedication to environmental conservation and served as a reminder of the collective responsibility to combat climate change.

Lahore Qalandars the most popular brand among youngsters and we believe in going beyond the limit to make a positive impact on society. Climate change is a pressing concern, and through this plantation drive, we aim to inspire others to take action for a cleaner and greener Pakistan,” said Atif Rana, CEO of Lahore Qalandars.

The plantation drive at UMT is just the beginning, as Lahore Qalandars plan to extend this initiative to various educational institutions and urban areas across the city. By encouraging tree plantation and environmental consciousness, the franchise hopes to inspire the youth and the wider community to embrace eco-friendly practices. Lahore Qalandars have always been at the forefront of meaningful social initiatives, and this plantation drive is yet another testament to their dedication to giving back to society.

Lahore Qalandars Unveil “Friends of Qalandars” – A University Fan Club Initiative

Lahore Qalandars, the back-to-back champions of PSL 7 & 8 and one of the most popular, youth-favorite franchises, proudly introduce Friends of Qalandars—an exciting new initiative aimed at fostering deeper fan engagement and youth empowerment through university-based fan club chapters.

The initiative officially kicked off at the University of Management & Technology (UMT) Lahore and will soon expand to other universities across the region.

Designed to connect students with their favorite team, Friends of Qalandars will serve as a dynamic platform for young sports enthusiasts to engage in exclusive activities, develop leadership skills, and build a strong fan community. Through this initiative, students will have the opportunity to participate in match screenings, Q&A sessions with players, intra-university tournaments, community projects, and networking opportunities.

Each university fan club will be managed by a student-led executive committee, ensuring an engaging and immersive experience for all members.

Speaking about the initiative, Atif Rana, CEO of Lahore Qalandars, highlighted the franchise’s commitment to youth development:

“Lahore Qalandars has always been about more than just cricket; we believe in nurturing young talent and inspiring future leaders. With Friends of Qalandars, we aim to create a passionate student community that not only supports the team but also grows personally and professionally through this platform.”

UMT President Ibrahim Hasan Murad also expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating:

“We are delighted to be the first university to launch Friends of Qalandars. This initiative aligns perfectly with our vision of empowering youth through sports, leadership, and community engagement. Partnering with Lahore Qalandars will provide our students with invaluable opportunities to learn, grow, and connect with the cricketing world.”

The program will roll out in multiple phases, beginning with university onboarding and an MoU signing ceremony. The ongoing engagement phase will include player meet-and-greets, competitions, and skill-building workshops.

Students eager to be part of Friends of Qalandars can register through their university chapters and take advantage of this exciting opportunity to connect with Lahore Qalandars and fellow cricket enthusiasts.
