MI London launches new identity with high-profile signings
MI London has wasted no time making a statement in its debut season under the new branding, unveiling three marquee names to lead the men’s and women’s sides in The Hundred 2026. Retaining England stars Sam Curran and Will Jacks, and signing Danni Wyatt-Hodge from Southern Brave, the franchise has signaled both ambition and continuity as it transitions from its previous identity as the Oval Invincibles.

The announcement also introduces the team’s vibrant new look—merging the iconic mint green of the Invincibles with the blue and gold of the global Mumbai Indians family. For MI London Chair Oli Slipper, the signings are as symbolic as they are strategic. “This is a real statement of intent from our playing teams,” he said in a statement.
Curran, who captains Surrey in T20s and has led franchises in the IPL and ILT20, will take on leadership duties for MI London in The Hundred. Alongside him, Jacks brings a wealth of power-hitting and all-round versatility, while Wyatt-Hodge’s arrival strengthens a women’s side that previously dominated the early years of the competition.
A core built on proven performers
Slipper praised the franchise’s decision to retain Curran and Jacks, both of whom have been instrumental in the Invincibles’ three-title run and are central figures in England’s white-ball setup. “In Sam and Will, we have signed two of the best English white-ball cricketers there are,” he said, adding, “They know what it means to step out in front of home fans at the Kia Oval and win trophies for their supporters.”
Curran’s rise through the Surrey talent pathway has been matched by international success—including a Player of the Match performance in England’s 2022 T20 World Cup win. Jacks, meanwhile, brings balance with over 6,000 runs and 80 wickets in T20 cricket, and extensive experience across the IPL, BBL, SA20, and ILT20.
Danni Wyatt-Hodge brings star power to women’s setup
The addition of Wyatt-Hodge marks a pivotal moment for the women’s franchise. One of the most decorated players in England’s white-ball history, she is the all-time leading T20I run-scorer for the national side and has been prolific in The Hundred. “Danni is a fan favourite in south London with her performances for Surrey and England and has already tasted success at the Kia Oval,” Slipper said.
Wyatt-Hodge, who lifted The Hundred trophy in 2023 and recently added a WBBL title with Hobart Hurricanes, arrives as the competition’s second-highest run-scorer. Slipper noted her pedigree, saying, “She’s been prolific in The Hundred and is one of the most exciting players in the game.”
A brand that reflects history and evolution
As much as the player announcements captured headlines, MI London’s rebrand is equally significant. The team’s updated visual identity incorporates elements of the Kia Oval’s legacy and the distinctive energy of the former Invincibles, now woven into the larger Mumbai Indians family. “I am also excited for supporters to be introduced to the new look and feel of our Hundred team,” Slipper said.
He added, “We have developed a brand that combines the history, heritage and prestige of the MI family but also brings the youthful vibrancy of the Oval Invincibles that made it one of the most recognisable sides in the competition.”
Global ambition with local roots
Akash Ambani, Team Owner of MI London, emphasized the franchise’s broader strategic goals. “MI London marks an exciting new chapter in taking the Mumbai Indians brand global and our journey in The Hundred,” he said in a statement.
Positioning MI London as a bridge between local talent and global excellence, Ambani highlighted the alignment of values across the men’s and women’s teams. “With world-class talent across the men’s and women’s teams – including Sam Curran, Will Jacks and Danni Wyatt-Hodge – and a strong connection to Surrey, MI London brings together elite cricket, local identity and MI’s winning culture,” he said.
As MI London steps into The Hundred under new colours and leadership, the franchise remains rooted in the values that have defined the Mumbai Indians globally. “The ethos of excellence, consistency and success that defines the Mumbai Indians will continue to shape how we play and entertain fans in the UK and around the world,” Ambani added.
With a refreshed identity, a core of world-class players, and a clear vision for the future, MI London enters The Hundred’s new era with momentum and intent. As the franchise blends tradition with innovation, all eyes will be on how it delivers both on and off the field.
