WINDHOEK: Cricket Namibia and Cricket South Africa (CSA) have announced a landmark T20 International match between Namibia’s national men’s team, the FNB Eagles, and South Africa’s Proteas, set for Saturday, 11 October 2025 at the brand-new FNB Namibia Cricket Ground (FNB NCG) in Windhoek.
This historic fixture will officially inaugurate the FNB NCG, a state-of-the-art cricket facility that positions Namibia as a rising hub in international cricket. Gates will open in the morning, with family-friendly fan activities scheduled throughout the day. The headline event—the T20I clash between the Eagles and the Proteas—will commence at 14:30 local time.
Major milestone for Namibian cricket
October 11 is set to become a landmark day in Namibian sports history. Not only will it host the nation’s largest cricket event to date, but it also marks the unveiling of a world-class stadium that will soon welcome the global cricketing community.
The FNB NCG is slated to host matches in both the 2026 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup and the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup—the first time Namibia will stage World Cup fixtures.
First-ever international between Namibia and South Africa
This encounter represents the first international cricket match between Namibia and South Africa, symbolizing a new era for African cricket collaboration.
