The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has signed a strategic agreement with the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation (SACF) to construct an international-standard cricket stadium in Jeddah, marking the first formal partnership of its kind between the two cricket bodies. Beyond the stadium itself, the agreement lays the foundation for broader collaboration on cricket infrastructure, technical expertise and operational standards as Saudi Arabia continues to expand its investment in the sport.
The agreement was signed by Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation Chairman Prince Saud bin Mishal Al Saud during Naqvi’s visit to Saudi Arabia. In a statement on X, the Pakistan Cricket Board said: “For the first time in history, a strategic agreement has been finalized between the PCB and the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation for the construction of the most modern cricket stadium in Jeddah.” The statement added: “The PCB will build a cricket stadium in Jeddah adorned with international standards and the latest facilities.” It further stated: “All facilities in the Jeddah cricket stadium will be provided in accordance with ICC standards.”

Partnership extends beyond stadium construction
The project is intended to create more than a single international venue, with both organisations committing to work together on the wider development of cricket across the Kingdom. In its statement on X, the Pakistan Cricket Board said: “The PCB and the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation will work together on infrastructure development, technical expertise, stadium planning, and operational standards.”
The board also highlighted the wider strategic importance of the initiative, saying: “This project will play a key role in enabling Saudi Arabia to host international cricket matches and major events. It will also support the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, including investment in sports, sports tourism, public participation, and improving quality of life.”
Naqvi outlines long-term vision
Naqvi described the agreement as an important step in strengthening cricket’s presence in Saudi Arabia while reinforcing the sporting relationship between the two countries. In a Pakistan Cricket Board statement on X, he said: “This agreement is a milestone for the promotion of cricket in Saudi Arabia.”
He added: “We are establishing a partnership together that will make the sport stronger and stronger.”
Naqvi also expressed confidence that the collaboration would deliver lasting benefits for the wider cricket community, saying: “This partnership will connect cricket circles and become an everlasting legacy.”
Building Saudi Arabia’s cricket ambitions
The agreement comes as Saudi Arabia continues to invest in sporting infrastructure and expand its presence across international sport, with cricket forming part of the Kingdom’s broader Vision 2030 strategy. Alongside the construction of the new venue, the collaboration is expected to support the development of technical expertise, stadium operations and cricket infrastructure capable of hosting international matches and major events.
The signing also builds on earlier discussions between the two boards over strengthening cricket ties, with the latest agreement representing the most significant formal step yet in Pakistan’s support for the sport’s long-term development in Saudi Arabia.
