The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is taking steps to address ongoing communication challenges within the national cricket team, as tensions between senior players, coaches, and selectors have surfaced in recent months. The issues, particularly regarding team decisions and selection matters, have led to frustration among key players such as ODI and Test captains, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shan Masood.
According to NDTV Sports, a source close to the situation revealed that the lack of effective communication between the team captains, coaches, and selectors has contributed to discontent among senior players. “There has been a lack of proper communication between the team captains, coaches and selectors in recent months and this has led to senior players including ODI and Test captains, Mohammad Rizwan, Shan Masood not being happy at decisions being taken by over-riding their views in selection and other team matters,” the source said.
To address these concerns and improve the working relationships between all parties involved, the PCB chairman is planning to arrange a conference. “The PCB chairman will probably call a meeting with senior players, selectors, coaches, concerned board officials and the mentors to openly discuss the issues in the team,” the source added. This initiative aims to foster transparency and resolve the misunderstandings that have arisen, ensuring better collaboration moving forward.
