Cricket New South Wales is thrilled to welcome Peter Siddle to the Blues coaching staff, signing on as a bowling coach for the 2026/27 season.
Siddle, one of the sport’s most popular figures over the last two decades, will work alongside the Blues’ fast bowling unit for the upcoming season, including all Sheffield Shield matches.
The former Australian seamer joins a new-look Blues coaching team alongside head coach Brad Haddin and assistants Peter Forrest and Daniel Smith. He will continue representing the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League.
Siddle, who retired from international cricket in 2019, represented Australia on 89 occasions following his Test debut in 2008, taking 241 wickets for his country. Domestically, he won two Sheffield Shield titles with Victoria, helping mentor the state’s up-and-coming fast bowlers during his later years in the set-up.
Cricket NSW is also excited to announce that Johan Botha will join the Blues as a spin bowling consultant on a temporary basis as the team prepares for the start of the 2026/27 season.
Botha represented South Africa on 123 occasions, leading the Proteas 21 times, while he also captained South Australia and the Adelaide Strikers during an illustrious playing career.
Since his retirement in 2019, Botha has taken on coaching roles in the Pakistan Super League, Caribbean Premier League and Big Bash League, also mentoring Queensland for three years.
