Lahore, 27 August 2025: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has initiated a formal valuation of all its commercial assets, appointing Ernst & Young (EY MENA) following a competitive public tender process. This move reflects the league’s commitment to transparency, fairness, and long-term sustainability as it approaches a major renewal cycle.
EY MENA, one of the world’s leading professional services firms, will lead the comprehensive valuation process, which is expected to begin later this month and conclude within five weeks.
Scope of the PSL asset valuation process
The valuation will cover a wide range of commercial assets and strategic areas, including:
Fair Market Value of all existing PSL franchises
Valuation of media rights, live-streaming rights, and in-stadia sponsorships
Valuation of title sponsorship rights
Valuation for potential new franchise teams
The Terms of Reference (TORs) were approved by the PSL Governing Council. This exercise is being conducted in line with the franchise agreements, which are nearing the end of their contractual term, and will inform both renewal franchise fees and future commercial strategy.
EY MENA to deliver independent, market-driven insights
EY MENA will collaborate with PSL stakeholders, conduct market research, perform benchmarking, and create valuation models that ensure a fair and data-backed outcome.
“This valuation marks a pivotal step in the evolution of the PSL which has cemented its place as one of the leading cricket franchises in the world,” said PSL CEO Salman Naseer. “By engaging an independent global leader like EY MENA, we are ensuring absolute transparency and fairness in determining the fair market value of our franchises and commercial rights.”
Naseer added that the initiative will provide confidence to current and prospective investors as the league looks to expand its footprint and commercial base:
“As we look toward the renewal cycle and addition of new team(s), this process will give stakeholders complete confidence in the league’s growth trajectory and long-term sustainability. Once the valuation report has been reviewed internally, the PCB will take informed and strategic decisions that will shape the future of the league.”
PSL prepares for growth with focus on investment and sustainability
The PSL remains a key driver of cricketing excellence and commercial growth in Pakistan and beyond. As it gears up for its next phase, including possible franchise expansion and new partnership opportunities, this valuation is expected to guide strategic decision-making for the next cycle of media, sponsorship, and team deals.
With strong local support and growing international recognition, the PSL continues to strengthen its position as a premier global cricket league.
