Sabina Park set to host its first-ever day/night Test as West Indies take on Australia
Cricket West Indies (CWI) has officially confirmed that all systems are go for the historic day/night Test match between the West Indies and Australia, starting Saturday, July 12, at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica.
This match marks the first day/night Test ever held in Jamaica and only the second in the Caribbean, following the 2018 clash at Kensington Oval.
🔹 Lighting upgrades complete, players give the green light
Thanks to newly upgraded lighting systems that now meet ICC standards, and positive feedback from both teams during practice sessions under lights, the iconic venue is ready to host its biggest event in years.
West Indies Head Coach Daren Sammy praised the conditions:
“The lights look really good. Our batters and bowlers went through their paces and had no complaints. There’s a real buzz in the camp—everyone’s excited to play in this environment, especially at such a historic and beautiful venue.”

Major infrastructure improvements were made possible by partnerships between Cricket West Indies, the Government of Jamaica, and key sponsors. These include:

🔹 Free entry for children under 16, affordable access for all
As part of CWI’s effort to grow fan engagement and mark this special event, children under the age of 16 will be granted free entry. Tickets are available at local box offices from 9:30am to 5:30pm daily and online via windiescricket.com.
