Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has extended his support to Ramabai Ranveer, a 47-year-old single mother from Ambajogai in Beed district, Maharashtra, whose determination to support her daughters’ education recently captured attention after she ran a marathon barefoot to win ₹3,000 in prize money.

Touched by her story, Tendulkar expressed his desire to support Ramabai by gifting her a pair of running shoes. Through Ten X You, his team connected with Ramabai through mutual contacts, as she does not own a phone, and arranged for the shoes to be delivered to her in Ambajogai.

What followed was a gesture that reflected Ramabai’s own generosity. When she was offered the shoes, she asked if a pair could also be given to the person who had told her about the marathon. She said that without his encouragement, she may never have participated in the race.

Taking her request forward, shoes were arranged for Ramabai, her two daughters, and the member of the marathon organising committee who had informed her about the event.

Ramabai was also delighted to learn that Tendulkar had come across her story and found her determination inspiring. For her, the gesture was not only about a new pair of running shoes, but also about the encouragement and recognition that came with them.
