Suresh Raina, former India international and ICC World Cup winner, is making his return to competitive cricket — this time with the Toronto Sixers in the inaugural edition of the Canada Super 60. The T10-format tournament, which runs from October 8 to 13 at Vancouver’s iconic BC Place Stadium, represents a bold new chapter for professional cricket on Canada’s West Coast.

Raina headlines international cast in new Canadian T10 league

Known for his aggressive left-handed batting and dynamic fielding, Suresh Raina will join international stars like Alex Hales, Jason Roy, and Andre Fletcher in the Canada Super 60. The league features both men’s and women’s competitions and is officially supported by Cricket Canada.

I’m really excited to be part of the Canada Super 60. Since this is the inaugural edition, it already feels special and promises to be a top-class tournament. The Toronto Sixers have a well-balanced squad with some big international names, as well as Canadian talent, and I’m looking forward to playing alongside them and contributing to the team’s success,” said Raina.

Toronto Sixers to face Brampton Blitz in opening clash

The Toronto Sixers will kick off their campaign on October 8 against the Brampton Blitz. With its compact 10-over-a-side format, the Super 60 aims to deliver fast-paced, entertainment-driven cricket to a new audience in North America.

Organizers celebrate Raina’s impact on Canadian cricket

The presence of Suresh Raina has been welcomed as a significant boost to the league’s credibility and reach, particularly in a market like Canada that’s rapidly embracing the sport.

We are thrilled to have Suresh Raina in the competition. His presence brings not just star value but also a wealth of experience. Young and upcoming players will get the chance to learn from him, both on and off the field, which will be a huge boost for their growth,” said Abhishek Shah, Founder and Chairman of the Canada Super 60.

It’s a great privilege to have someone like Suresh Raina in our team. He is a World Cup winner and has played some of the biggest tournaments in the world. His vast experience in the shorter format will be a big advantage for us,” added Sami Faridi, CEO of the Toronto Sixers.

Canada’s West Coast becomes a new hub for cricket

The Canada Super 60 is more than just a new T10 tournament — it’s part of a larger effort to elevate cricket’s footprint across North America, especially on the West Coast of Canada. With international stars, a world-class venue, and the backing of Cricket Canada, the tournament aims to become a fixture on the global cricket calendar.

And with a high-profile name like Suresh Raina headlining the event, interest from fans, media, and sponsors is already building fast.
