Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced a historic three-match T20 International series against Nepal, set to take place on September 27, 28, and 30, 2025, at the iconic Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates. This will mark the first-ever bilateral series between the two nations and a major milestone in global cricket expansion.

Milestone moment for Nepal cricket

Hosted by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), this landmark series arrives just ahead of Nepal’s participation in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier. The matches will provide valuable international exposure for the emerging cricket nation as they prepare for a crucial tournament later in the year.

West Indies backs global cricket growth

For CWI, this series reinforces its mission to support and grow the game in emerging cricketing nations. Chris Dehring, CEO of Cricket West Indies, emphasized the symbolic importance of the event:

“This series is more than just a set of international matches—it’s a celebration of the game’s expanding global footprint and a testament to what cricket represents: pride, purpose, and the power of unity.”

He further highlighted the role of full-member nations in growing cricket beyond their borders: “We are proud to stand with Nepal at this moment in their history and look forward to exciting and competitive cricket in Sharjah.”

Sharjah set for high-impact cricket

With Sharjah Cricket Stadium serving as a neutral venue, the series is expected to feature a strong West Indies squad and provide fans with thrilling action and a unique cultural showcase. The neutral venue also enhances the event’s global appeal and accessibility.
