Yorkshire CCC fined and handed suspended points deduction over PMOA breaches in Metro Bank One Day Cup
Yorkshire County Cricket Club has been sanctioned by the Cricket Discipline Panel (CDP) following multiple breaches of the Player & Match Officials Area (PMOA) Regulations during their Metro Bank One Day Cup fixture against Northamptonshire on 8 August 2025.
The independent panel, chaired by Richard Whittam KC, issued a £1,000 fine and a suspended four-point deduction for the Metro Bank One Day Cup (or its equivalent). The points deduction will remain suspended for a period of 24 months and will be enforced only if Yorkshire commits further breaches of PMOA Regulations within that timeframe.
Yorkshire admits to breaching PMOA article 7.4.4
Yorkshire CCC admitted to violations of article 7.4.4 of the PMOA Regulations, which relate to access and conduct within designated restricted areas during matches.
The investigation and subsequent charges were brought forward by the Cricket Regulator, which has increased its enforcement of match integrity and regulatory compliance across county cricket.
CDP reaffirms strict compliance standards
The CDP’s ruling underlines its commitment to maintaining the integrity and professional standards of the domestic game. In its decision, the panel emphasized the importance of upholding PMOA rules to ensure the safety, security, and fairness of match-day environments.
Richard Whittam KC, Chair of the CDP, stated that while the breaches were not malicious, strict enforcement is necessary to deter future infractions.
