The monthly board meeting of Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) was held led by ACB Chairman Mr. Farhan Yusefzai. During the meeting, the newly introduced four members of the board were welcomed, land allocation for the new stadium in Kabul and other plans for the future, including national team’s FTP and the financial stability of the organization were discussed.

As the meeting commenced, The Chairman welcomed all the new members of the Board that included Acting Minister for Women’s Affairs Ms. Hasina Safi, Senior Advisor to the First Vice-President of Afghanistan Mr. Haroun Mir and Member of Wolesi Jirga Rohullah Khanzada.

The other members who attended the meeting included the Governor of Nangarhar Province Mr. Zia-ul-Haq Amarkheil, Mr. Fereydoon Elham and Senator Ms. Golalai Nur Safi.

The issue of allocating land for the construction of a standard cricket stadium in Kabul was discussed in detail. The land allocation was promised by H.E President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani at the opening ceremony of the seventh edition of the Etisalat 4G Shpageeza Cricket League.

The board members meeting followed-up on the issue of land allocation after another meeting was held on the same matter in the Administrative Office of the President last week with relevant stakeholders available.

The members also appreciated the reforms carried out by ACB recently and the financial stability of the organization in these crucial times.

In addition to the emphasis on holding the Afghanistan Premier League T20 later this year, the board also discussed the national team’s Future Tours Program (FTP) for the year 2021 when Afghanistan is scheduled to face Ireland, Zimbabwe, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, India, UAE, Australia, West Indies and Zimbabwe excluding the ICC T20 World Cup and the ACC Asia Cup 2021.
