After an exciting Eliminator effort in BBL10, the Brisbane Heat have installed a new-look leadership team of Jimmy Pierson and Wade Seccombe in the hopes to aid them back into contention.

The wait is nearly over Heat fans, the boys will make their BBL11 season debut at Manuka Oval, Canberra on Monday night against the Sydney Thunder.

A new-look captain in Heat veteran Jimmy Pierson and former Bulls keeper Wade Seccombe as coach may just prove to be the key factors in a triumphant season.

Pierson has warned bowlers that young gun Max Bryant has been working hard on his game through the off season and will be someone to keep their eye on.

Heat’s all-time leading runs-scorer Chris Lynn, Sam Heazlett and Max Bryant and debuting England recruit Ben Duckett will be key batting factors in the Heat lineup. Two left-handers in the top four could be prove very handy too.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman the Afghani wunderkind will be a constant threat to batters after taking 5-15 against the Hobart Hurricanes last December.

Heat quicks Mark Steketee, Xavier Bartlett, and James Bazley will be key figures in the death overs.

The Thunder has retained England exports Alex Hales and Sam Billings, both having explosive BBL seasons and being two of the most sought-after T20 players will prove handy in the Thunder batting order.

The Thunder’s load of spinners could prove costly against the Heat in the PowerPlay, with Jonathon Cook, Chris Green, Jason Sangha and Tanveer Sangha all returning to don the lime green.

After Monday’s game against the Thunder, the boys will fly West where they will face the Perth Scorchers at Optus Stadium on Wednesday at 8.35pm AEST.

Heat will take on the Melbourne Renegades at Metricon Stadium on the Gold Coast on Monday 13 December, with their first Gabba match inside a week later when they host the Sydney Thunder on Sunday 19 December.

The next home game will feature the Melbourne Stars on Monday 27 December at the Gabba. Defending champion’s Sydney Sixers will face the Heat at Metricon Stadium on Tuesday 4 January, followed by Brisbane hosting the Hobart Hurricanes (Saturday 8 January), Adelaide Strikers (Wednesday 12 January) and Perth Scorchers (Wednesday 19 January), all at the Gabba.
