ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 Trophy Tour – Driven by Nissan to take the CWC 22 show around New Zealand

With 50 days to go, ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 Trophy Tour – Driven by Nissan celebrations are being announced to help launch the tournament around New Zealand. 

It all starts with beach cricket at Mount Maunganui on 4 February, then visits host cities Tauranga, Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Dunedin and more, before concluding in Christchurch on 26 February. 

“Taking this tournament to all of New Zealand is key to our kaupapa – the tour will start things off with a bang with plenty of chances to get involved and learn more about the tournament. We’d love to welcome as many kiwis on the tour as possible,” said CWC 22 CEO Andrea Nelson.   

The tour is a chance for communities, schools, cultural and sporting groups to whet their appetite before the show starts, with opportunities for thousands of New Zealanders to try cricket activities, meet well known faces and have photos taken with the ICC CWC 22 Trophy.  

ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 Trophy Tour – Driven by Nissan stops include: 

  • Beach cricket at Mount Maunganui, featuring have-a-go activities and more on 4 February 
  • Community cultural event in Auckland on 5 February 
  • Hallyburton Johnstone Shield match between Northern Districts and Hearts in Hamilton on Waitangi Day 
  • Masters Games closing event in Dunedin on 13 February 
  • Round the Bays in Wellington on 20 February 
  • Closing event in Christchurch on 26 February
    • Final schedule is subject to change
