The Pakistan Cricket Board has taken a serious notice of the reports of an unsanctioned and unapproved T20 cricket tournament scheduled to take place in Rawalpindi, which also intends to hold a player draft in the coming days.
The PCB has promptly warned all the players, officials including coaching staff and relevant stakeholders associated with the cricket fraternity in the country from participating and working in this unsanctioned tournament.
The said tournament did not obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the PCB as is the practice for all such private cricket events. The players or officials who need to refrain from being involved in it comprise of centrally, domestically contracted or those registered with any of the cricket clubs, departmental cricket teams and district or regional cricket associations.
Any involvement in the tournament will be considered a breach of PCB regulations and it holds the right to take due action against the participating players or officials. Additionally, the PCB also advises the commercial and broadcast entities involved to reevaluate their association with the above-mentioned tournament.
