Acting ACB CEO meets Governor of Nangarhar

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) is the governing body for cricket in Afghanistan. It joined the ICC in 2001, became an associate member in 2013, and a full member in 2017. The ACB is also part of the Asian Cricket Council.

Afghanistan Cricket Board’s acting CEO Mr. Nazeem Jaar AbdulRahimzai met the Governor of Nangarhar Mr. Zia ul Haq Amarkheil in Nangarhar where they discussed the construction progress of the Behsud Cricket Ground.

The construction activities of the Behsud Cricket Ground started around one and half months ago and the first stage (filling and levelling) will be completed in the next three to four weeks while the other stages will be commenced accordingly.

Mr. AbdulRahimzai requested for the Governor’s assistance on some issues related to the Ground and was fully assured of full support by the local government. Mr. Amarkheil further emphasized that cricketing activities should be given priority and be completed as per schedule.

The meeting was also attended by the mayor of Jalalabad city and other relevant officials as they discussed other relevant issues as well.
