Adam Hose and Ailsa Lister have been crowned the Professional Cricketers’ Association (PCA) Players of the Month for June 2025, following standout performances in the men’s and women’s domestic circuits.

PCA awards recognise top domestic talent using MVP rankings and public vote

The PCA Player of the Month awards are decided through a combination of the PCA Most Valuable Player (MVP) Rankings, powered by OFX, and a public vote. Each month, the four top-performing men’s and women’s players based on MVP points are shortlisted, with the final winner decided by a 50:50 split between public votes and MVP performance.

Adam Hose: June MVP with 568 runs and two Match MVPs

Worcestershire batter Adam Hose led all players in MVP points (145.85) and won 46.45% of the public vote to secure the PCA Men’s Player of the Month title. Hose had a stellar month across the Rothesay County Championship and Vitality Blast, scoring 568 runs in nine games at an average of 63.11.

Hose claimed two Match MVPs in June:

  • Vs. Notts Outlaws (Vitality Blast): Scored 95 off 51 balls – 36.17 MVP points
  • Vs. Hampshire (County Championship): Career-best 266 off 253 balls – 57.49 MVP points

Reflecting on his month, Hose said:

“Winning the award is great. You never set out to win these accolades, but it is always nice to be recognised.”

He also shared how the birth of his first child in May gave him a fresh mindset: “Sometimes you can get distracted by things away from the game so having that freshness of turning up and playing has been working well.”

Ailsa Lister earns first PCA Player of the Month title

Scotland international and Lancashire batter Ailsa Lister picked up the PCA Women’s Player of the Month award after securing 41% of the public vote and earning 125.63 MVP points.

In the Women’s Vitality Blast, Lister scored 230 runs at a strike rate of 174.24, averaging 57.5 while batting in the middle-order. Her most notable performance came in a Match MVP-winning display against The Blaze, where she smashed 79 off 38 balls and earned 44.58 MVP points.

On her award, Lister said:

“It has been nice to get a good run of games and put in some performances. This award is just a mark of that.”

She added: “Being a pinch-hitter is something I’ve been working on. My power has always been a strength and now I’m using it more consistently.”

PCA MVP Rankings highlight all-round performance impact

The PCA MVP system uses a unique algorithm to measure player contributions across batting, bowling, fielding, and match impact—giving a holistic view of player performance. The June 2025 MVP tables featured top names including David Willey, Dom Sibley, Will Jacks (men) and Ella McCaughan, Danni Wyatt-Hodge, Grace Harris (women).
