OPERATIONS MANAGER
Bat for a Chance is a registered UK charity focused on funding cricket for social change initiatives and providing equipment to bring the sport to disadvantaged communities globally. We are looking for a self-starting, energetic individual to oversee the charities day to-day operations and help prepare us for the next phase of growth.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Operations Manager will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the charity. Working closely with the Founder and Trustees, the Operations Manager will drive forward multiple initiatives in both the equipment recycling and cricket for social change areas of the charity.
EMPLOYMENT TYPE
This is a part-time position with the expectation being around 3 days work per week. Much of the work can be undertaken remotely but there will be times when in person attendance is required. The role will report to The Founder and the Board of Trustees.
SALARY
In the region of £30,000 per year assuming full-time basis. Salary will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis for part-time work. The successful candidate is expected to work in the region of 25 hours per week and can manage their time on a flexible basis.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Operations Manager will need to work independently and as part of a team and will be required to operate with minimum levels of supervision. The candidate will need to be self starting and be able to anticipate potential opportunities and issues. Communication skills will also be key as the Operations Manager will be in regular contact with other members of BFAC staff as well as our existing and prospective business partners.
• Work closely with Warehouse Manager on all kit drops, including helping manage logistics, legacy monitoring, and assessment of kit requests from overseas and the UK
• Manage key partnerships with schools, leagues, clubs, and counties
• Assist in bringing to life sponsor activations where relevant
• Work with Founder on implementation of CSC programs
• Run the Friends of BFAC scheme through partner schools and clubs
• Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely and efficient equipment delivery
• Facilitate workshops and events to promote awareness and engagement in schools and clubs
• Create and manage impact reports and operational metrics.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate should be educated to A-Level standard and would ideally have experience of working in either the charitable or sports sectors.
