The BCCI has announced the India A and Rest of India (ROI) squads for two major domestic fixtures — the India A vs Australia A one-day series and the Irani Cup 2025.
The India A team will play a three-match one-day series against Australia A in Kanpur starting from September 30. Meanwhile, the Irani Cup — a traditional clash between the Ranji Trophy winners and the Rest of India — will be held in Nagpur from October 1, with Vidarbha representing the Ranji champions.

Shreyas Iyer to skip red-ball cricket for six months
Shreyas Iyer, who has been named captain for the one-dayers, will not be part of the Irani Cup squad. The BCCI stated that Iyer informed them of his decision to take a six-month break from red-ball cricket due to recurring back issues.
Iyer, who previously underwent back surgery in the UK, cited stiffness and spasms while playing the longer format as reasons. He will focus on fitness, endurance, and body resilience during this period. As a result, he was not considered for the Rest of India squad.
