Cricket fans worldwide are eagerly awaiting the official schedule for the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is reportedly set to commence on March 21, 2025. According to a report by Sports Tak, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is expected to unveil the complete fixture list within the next week, likely before the start of the Champions Trophy.

A significant development for IPL 2025 is its alignment with the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Code of Conduct regulations. Unlike previous seasons where the IPL followed its own disciplinary framework, the tournament will now adhere to ICC‘s global guidelines that govern all major T20 leagues.

Meanwhile, the IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla has confirmed that the tournament will kick off as planned on March 21 with grand celebrations. The final is scheduled for May 25. Reports suggest that the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad will host the first two playoff matches, while Eden Gardens in Kolkata will be the venue for the second playoff and the grand finale.

Regarding team venues, the report states that two franchises will play some of their home matches at alternate locations. Delhi Capitals (DC) will host two home games in Visakhapatnam, while Rajasthan Royals (RR) will also play two of their home matches at a neutral venue yet to be determined.

In the highly anticipated mega auction, Rishabh Pant made history by becoming the most expensive player in IPL auction history, securing a staggering ₹27 crore deal. He was followed by Shreyas Iyer (₹26.75 crore) and Venkatesh Iyer (₹23.75 crore), both of whom landed significant contracts.

As the countdown to IPL 2025 continues, the excitement is building for what promises to be another thrilling season filled with marquee clashes, intense competition, and electrifying performances. With the official schedule set to be released soon, anticipation is at an all-time high.
