The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) invites applications for two key positions with Team India (Senior Women): Head Physiotherapist and Strength & Conditioning Coach. Both roles will be based at the state-of-the-art BCCI Centre of Excellence (COE) in Bengaluru and involve travelling with Team India (Senior Women) for matches and tournaments.
These positions are integral to the Sports Science & Medicine (SSM) team, providing high-performance support services to enhance player performance and implement effective injury management and prevention protocols. The successful candidates will work in a multidisciplinary environment, contributing to the overall development of women’s cricket in India.
HEAD PHYSIOTHERAPIST – COE / Team India (Senior Women)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide match day physiotherapy services and day-to-day injury management
- Diagnose injuries and devise evidence-based management plans
- Conduct one-on-one treatment sessions with players
- Collaborate with medical professionals for optimal player care
- Work with Head Sports Science & Medicine and S&C professionals to deliver injury management and prevention programs
- Monitor and review athletes’ training workloads
- Develop and implement injury prevention strategies
- Contribute to the SSM team’s research and development initiatives
Qualifications & Experience
- Postgraduate qualification specializing in Sports or Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy/Sports & Exercise Medicine/Sports Rehabilitation
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in physiotherapy services
- Experience working with elite athletes/teams, preferably high-performance squads
- Extensive experience in musculoskeletal/sports injury diagnosis and management
- Advanced Life Support & Trauma Management certification (within past 2 years)
STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH – COE / Team India (Senior Women)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide match day S&C services and lead warm-up and pre-game preparations
- Design and deliver customized fitness programs for players
- Implement regular fitness testing programs
- Monitor and review individual athletes’ training workloads
- Develop appropriate injury prevention strategies
- Provide player fitness status reports for training and matches
- Implement effective recovery strategies to enhance player performance
- Contribute to the SSM team’s research and development initiatives
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualification specializing in S&C and/or Sports Physiology/Science
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in S&C services
- Experience working with elite athletes/teams, preferably high-performance squads
- Experience in designing, implementing, and monitoring S&C programs
- Experience working with rehabilitation specialists in managing sports injuries
- Basic Life Support & Trauma Management certification (within past 2 years)
Both positions will report to the Head Sports Science and Medicine, Centre of Excellence, Bengaluru, and the Head Coach – Team India (Senior Women). The term for both positions is 2 years.
