ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an exciting time for us as we are recruiting for a Senior Manager, Procurement within our Finance department. We’re looking for someone to head up our procurement function to develop and implement our procurement strategy, conduct thorough market analysis, drive financial and strategic outcomes, manage supplier relationships, and lead a motivated team.

Reporting to the General Manager – Transformation, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Developing, implementing, and managing the procurement strategy for Cricket Australia (CA) with a category-led approach for key strategic categories.
  • Leading a cross-functional procurement team and effectively managing multiple stakeholders across a complex stakeholder environment.
  • Conducting thorough market analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within each category.
  • Driving financial and strategic outcomes by delivering improved results that meet savings targets and other strategic goals.
  • Leading and motivating the procurement team, ensuring they receive appropriate support, training, and development.
  • Facilitating the development of relationships with existing and potential suppliers, and implementing a supplier relationship management approach to deliver improved outcomes.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Tertiary qualifications (Bachelor or master’s degree) in Business or related discipline
  • Proven experience as a procurement manager, senior category manager, sourcing manager, procurement officer or head of procurement
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques, with the ability to analyse market trends
  • Experience engaging with and presenting to stakeholders at all levels, including executives, senior business stakeholders and third parties
  • Excellent influencing, negotiating and networking skills
  • Excellent stakeholder relationship skills and demonstrated experience building credibility in complex stakeholder environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical mindset with strong critical thinking skills
  • Experience in collecting and analysing data
  • Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities while remaining focused and clear
  • Good knowledge of supplier or third-party management software
  • Strong leadership capabilities and experience leading, motivating and developing others

Although not essential, the following skills and experience will be highly regarded:

  • BSc degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration (or similar)
  • Experience leading a cross functional procurement team in a complex stakeholder environment
  • Experience within sports or the non-for-profit sector
  • Experience conducting analysis of and obtaining insights from spend data and other procurement related data sets
  • Project management experience
