ABOUT THE ROLE

We are recruiting for a 12-month parental leave cover for our Senior Specialist, Data Platforms within our Technology department. We’re looking for someone to lead the use of advanced data visualisations for key stakeholders by providing end-to-end expertise, drive engagement with data tools to foster a data-driven decision-making culture and support the delivery of data analytics across Australian Cricket to enable users to gain insights and further improve customer experiences. This is a nationally focused role, and while our preference is for the position to be located in Melbourne, we welcome applications from candidates located anywhere within Australia. You will be able to work flexibly, with a mix of working remotely and from within your nearest Australian Cricket office.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Data & Analytics, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Data Quality and Management: Working closely with the Senior Manager, Data & Analytics to define and implement platforms, strategies, and toolsets to drive data quality within Cricket Australia. Leading development and access to key Australian Cricket data to enhance business decisions and improve fan experiences.
  • Strategic Visual Data Analytics and Dashboarding: Establishing and managing key data processes and logic to transform raw data to support fact-based decisions. Creating advanced data visualisations and complex business intelligence reporting to provide insights for critical business goals and objectives.
  • Create a Data-Driven Culture: Collaborating with business owners/users to define, implement, and support reporting solutions using Power BI and SQL server data warehouse. Acting as a subject matter expert in BI/visualisation/data analytics to uplift organisational capability.
  • Process & Product: Providing measurable input into new products, processes, and standards based on organisation strategy. Adapting or enhancing existing methods, processes, and standards and driving continuous improvement.
  • Support Existing Technology Data Architecture: Supporting existing Technology data architecture and systems in the day-to-day flow of data for wider use in the Fans and Participation experience.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Tertiary qualifications (Bachelor or Master’s degree) in Statistics or related Business discipline and relevant Microsoft certifications
  • 5+ years’ experience with data integration tools and working with complex data in consumer insights and analytics
  • Experience and advanced technical skills with Power BI, Data Factory, DataBricks, Integration Services, and advanced SQL (DAX, M)
  • Managing multiple stakeholders’ needs
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering products, processes, and standards
  • Successfully delivering data-based projects
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities across multiple disciplines
  • Strong understanding of statistical concepts in data mining and analytics
  • Commercial acumen and solid business understanding
  • Ability to work with large-scale, complex, and incomplete data
  • Passionate, self-motivated, team player with a positive attitude
  • Strategic thinker with a focus on effective outcomes
  • Impeccable attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly professional manner

Although not essential, the following experience will be highly regarded:

  • Strong focus on consumer and service excellence
  • Technical certification relevant to domain
  • Data Management experience
  • Ability to create and foster a data-driven culture within an organisation
  • Exposure to marketing automation platforms
  • Practical yet creative thinker who challenges the status quo
