BACKGROUND
Cricket Ireland is the governing body for the game at both performance and participation levels throughout all-Ireland, representing the interests of both the Men’s and Women’s game. Cricket Ireland was awarded ICC Full Membership in 2017 and is regularly involved in World Cup and Qualifying events. Cricket was also adopted into the Olympic Games for 2028.
JOB PURPOSE
Cricket Ireland is seeking a FULL TIME PERMANENT PERFORMANCE ANALYST – WOMEN’S CRICKET
The position is based in Belfast, but it will at times demand a national brief across both sides of the border as well as extensive periods travelling overseas with the Women’s Team.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the European Economic Area (EEA).
The successful candidate will coordinate and deliver high quality performance analysis services to the Ireland Women’s Performance squad as well as work around the Women’s pathway programmes.
REPORTING and MANAGEMENT
This role will report to the Women’s Head Coach on a day-to-day basis in training and competition, and to the Performance Services Manager on an operational and line management basis.
KEY ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide in-game analysis support for all Ireland Women’s senior matches. On occasions and when the schedule permits, assist the Ireland A/Development and Domestic Super Series teams in the same manner.
- Use a wide variety of information, data and video to provide world’s best analytical support to the players and support staff of the Ireland Women’s senior teams, including supporting series preview and review processes. Where appropriate, offer a streamlined level of support to the Ireland A/Development and Domestic Super Series teams.
- Gather video and statistical information during Ireland Women’s team training sessions and offer analytical feedback during or following sessions to enhance skill development. On occasion, assist Domestic Super Series Cricket and Talent Pathway programmes in the same manner.
- Provide impactful support to the Ireland Women’s selection panel to inform objective selection aligned to the strategy of the Ireland Women’s team. Where appropriate, offer support surrounding selection of Ireland A/Development and Domestic Super Series squads in the same manner.
- Work in conjunction with the Performance Services Manager to oversee the use of part time performance analysis staff, consultants or interns working within the Ireland Women’s pathway and ensure they offer suitable pre-game, in-game and post-game analytical support to the Ireland Women’s, Domestic Super Series and Talent Pathway programmes.
- Be responsible for the upkeep, maintenance and audit logging of all performance analysis software, equipment and hardware used within the Ireland Women’s programme. Ensure that the software being used appropriately fits the needs of players and coaches.
- Be responsible for CI camera and capturing equipment and ensure an annual audit of all equipment is carried out and logged.
- Work with collaboration with wider SSSM MDT on any identified research and development projects.
- Other duties as required by your line-manager to ensure the professional Performance Analysis delivery to our national teams.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
- Degree (or equivalent) in sport science or related subject
- Minimum of 2 years full time or part time equivalent experience delivering Performance Analysis services in a performance sport environment.
- Experience working within a cricketing environment
- Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team in the delivery of Performance Analysis services to performance teams.
DESIRABLE - Postgraduate qualification in Sport Science or relevant professional performance analysis accreditation.
- Experience with data visualisation tools e.g Tableau, Power BI etc.
- Experience of travelling with teams on overseas tours.
- Experience using NV play or PCS Pro.
