Cricket Ireland has announced a three-year partnership with MatchWornShirt, the global leader in authentic sports memorabilia, marking a first-of-its-kind initiative for Irish cricket fans to own match-worn and signed jerseys from Ireland’s men’s and women’s national teams.

The partnership officially kicks off with two online auctions during Ireland’s upcoming Men’s T20 Internationals against England at Malahide Cricket Club on 17 and 21 September. Shirts worn by the starting XI in each game will be made available to fans worldwide, with auctions going live as soon as the matches begin.

Turning moments into memorabilia

This agreement is the first of its kind for Cricket Ireland and provides supporters with a unique opportunity to own one-of-a-kind collectibles linked directly to standout moments on the field.

Tijmen Zonderwijk, CEO of MatchWornShirt, said:

“We are thrilled to partner with Cricket Ireland and bring supporters closer to their national teams than ever before. For the first time, Irish cricket fans and collectors will have the chance to own their heroes’ match-worn & signed shirts, turning moments into memorabilia and keeping them forever.”

All for a good cause

A percentage of proceeds from the auctions will be donated to Cricket Ireland’s charity partner, The Lord’s Taverners Ireland — a foundation supporting young people with additional needs by helping them access sporting opportunities and community inclusion.

Paul O’Sullivan, Commercial Manager for Cricket Ireland, commented:

“This is a truly creative way to engage with our fans globally, all with that much sought after ‘uniqueness’ as part of the offer. MatchWornShirt has become a leader in this industry, and we are delighted that all profits from this venture will go to our charity partner.”

Featured players in launch auctions

The initial shirt auctions will feature match-worn kits from some of Ireland’s most iconic players, including:

  • Paul Stirling – Ireland’s white-ball captain and most experienced player, with 16 international centuries.
  • Andrew Balbirnie – Men’s red-ball captain and former T20I Player of the Match vs England.
  • Gaby Lewis – Women’s team captain and one of the most explosive openers in world cricket.
  • Laura Delany – Former captain and Ireland Women’s most-capped player.
