Following the fantastic performance of the Dutch men’s team during the T20 World Cup in Australia, several Orange players have been picked up by franchises. For example, Colin Ackermann, Max O’Dowd and Paul van Meekeren will play in the Bangladesh Premier League from January 6 to February 16, 2023. Later this month, Bas de Leede, Brandon Glover and Fred Klaassen will be in action during the ILT20 in the United Arab Emirates.
Max O’Dowd and Colin Ackermann face off in the opening game of the BPL on January 6. Then the Chattogram Challengers take on the Sylhet Strikers. Later, they also meet Paul van Meekeren (Khulna Tigers).
In total, 46 matches will be played by seven participating teams in three cities: Dhaka, Sylhet and Chattogram.

Many world class players are present at the ILT20. The teams of the Dutch are all led by experienced West Indians. For example, the De Leede team is led by the West Indies veteran Kieron Pollard. Dwayne Bravo and Trent Boult, among others, become Bas’ teammates. Brandon Glover’s team is also led by a West Indian: Sunil Narine. Klaassen’s team has Rovman Powell as captain.
In the league, all six teams play the other teams twice. The top four make the playoffs. Then there is an eliminator and two qualifiers – just like in the IPL – to determine the two finalists. Here you can follow the performance of the teams:
