JOHANNESBURG: Cricket South Africa (CSA) is pleased to announce a new multi-year partnership with Advtech Limited (Advtech), one of Africa’s leading education and resourcing groups, that will see the organisation become a partner across selected Proteas events and CSA Youth Weeks.

Advtech will serve as the official sponsor of the Proteas Women’s inbound Test series, the CSA Youth Weeks, including the U13 Boys Week, the U16 Boys and Girls Weeks,  the U19 Girls Week and the Khaya Majola Cricket Week.

The education group will also join as the associate partner for the Proteas Men’s Test event.

The partnership brings together two organisations committed to creating opportunities for young people to realise their potential through education and sport, with Advtech representing various primary, secondary and tertiary institutions, with a focus on education, training and placement.

With a vested interest in the youth, Advtech aims to strengthen CSA’s development pathway by contributing to the growth of cricketers and coaches, and introducing specialised girls’ cricket programmes at selected Advtech schools, leveraging their position as an education leader across Africa.

CSA Chief Executive, Pholetsi Moseki said:

“We are excited about teaming up with Advtech. This partnership goes beyond what happens on the field. For CSA, it is important that our work has meaningful social impact, and partnering with Advtech strengthens the connection between cricket, education and the development of young people throughout our pathway.

“From introducing young boys and girls to the game through the KFC Mini-Cricket programme, our Youth Weeks and the professional game, education has an important role to play at every level. This partnership aims to unlock support for the system and help prepare cricketers for opportunities beyond their playing careers.”

Commenting, Advtech CEO Geoff Whyte said:

“Our partnership with Cricket South Africa extends across the sport, from grassroots to the elite Men’s and Women’s teams.

“It represents a powerful investment into South Africa’s most inclusive sporting code that will also significantly benefit our brands.”
