The Role

We are currently seeking to appoint a Commercial Sales Specialist who will be responsible for delivering financial growth by maximizing commercial business opportunities across the Melbourne Stars, Melbourne Renegades and Cricket Victoria. This role focuses on lead generation, identifying and securing revenue-generating partnerships and sponsorships while supporting the broader sales function of Cricket Victoria to enhance commercial success.

Key Responsibilities include:

  •  Working with the Head of Commercial to deliver Commercial Strategy, including the most effective utilisation of Group assets, either collectively or individually, including identifying and attracting new sponsors and revenue streams consistent with CV’s position, values and philosophy
  • Source, develop and secure key commercial relationships for Melbourne Stars, Melbourne Renegades and Cricket Victoria
  • Build and grow a sales database CRM system that includes qualified leads and relevant prospects
  • Support the prospecting and procurement of sponsorship and partnership opportunities
  • Identify new markets, segments and commercial opportunities for the Melbourne Stars, Melbourne Renegades and Cricket Victoria
  • Develop and create sponsorship proposals that delivery innovative and tailored solutions that align with the prospective Sponsors key objectives
  • Support MS, MR and CV Partnership Managers on match days and events where required
  • Identify new and existing products that can drive commercial benefit
  • Create proposals; work with Head of Commercial to develop proposals that are consistent with the prospective sponsors key objectives
  • Build and leverage MS,MR and CV corporate networks to identify opportunities and generate commercial sales leads
  • Support the preparation of Commercial reports and management updates as required
  • Maintain commercial/corporate database CRM system
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends and developments in key sponsor industries as well as looking for new product opportunities
  • Develop and implement new business development procedures (prospecting, corporate contacts, pitch process, checklists, pro-formas, rate cards, commercial analysis etc.)

To be considered, you will meet the below criteria:

Essential

  •  Proven work history in a similar Sales role
  • Demonstrated ability to build and retain relationships at all levels
  • Capable of delivering an end-to-end solution for current and prospective partners
  • Able to think creatively and present sponsorship proposals that are aligned to business objectives
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Previous experience in managing a sales (or similar) CRM database
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • A self-driven and highly motivated person prepared to roll up their sleeves and ‘get it done’
  • Ability to work within a small team environment

Desirable

  •  Previous experience with various CRM platforms
  • Ability to use Microsoft PowerPoint or similar programs

 Qualifications

– Tertiary qualification in a relevant degree i.e. Business, Marketing, etc.

– Valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check

– Current Driver’s license and access to own vehicle
