Cricket West Indies (CWI) has officially launched its “Full Ah Energy” summer campaign, setting the tone for an action-packed cricket season across the Caribbean. The launch event was held on Friday, May 16 at Kensington Oval in Barbados, drawing together CWI leadership, past and present players, government officials, influencers, school children, and fans to celebrate the vibrant spirit of West Indies cricket.
Full Ah Energy campaign set to power summer of West Indies cricket
The “Full Ah Energy” campaign kicks off an exciting summer schedule, beginning June 11 with the West Indies Women’s Series vs South Africa Women at the 3Ws Oval. It will continue with a slate of high-stakes international fixtures involving the West Indies Men’s team across the region.
Dr. Kishore Shallow, CWI President, emphasized the cultural depth of the campaign:
“This is more than a tagline—it’s a movement that embodies the power, flair, and undeniable West Indian spirit our teams bring to the game. The campaign fuses cricket, culture, and community, with a strong emphasis on youth engagement.”
The campaign comes at a pivotal moment for West Indies cricket, with Roston Chase taking over as Test captain and Kraigg Brathwaite approaching his milestone 100th Test appearance.
Youth engagement and cultural pride at the campaign’s core
“Full Ah Energy” is more than just branding—it includes match-day activations, school outreach, community events, and behind-the-scenes content to connect fans with the players and the game like never before. The campaign aims to amplify West Indian identity and foster long-term fan engagement through inclusion and grassroots impact.
Chris Dehring, CWI CEO, said the fans’ energy fuels the players’ performance:
“This campaign is a powerful reminder that cricket is not just a sport—it’s deeply woven into the fabric of West Indian life. Every West Indian child should feel they have the right to show up and walk into a Test match—no ticket needed. It’s not just access. It’s their inheritance and fundamental right.”
Cricket gear donations kick off community outreach
As part of the launch, CWI donated cricket equipment to four primary schools in Barbados, including Gordon Greenidge Primary School, named after the iconic West Indies opener. The outreach program underlines CWI’s goal of growing the game at the grassroots level.
The “Full Ah Energy” campaign aligns with CWI’s broader strategy to rejuvenate West Indies cricket through innovation, access, and cultural connection. Fans can expect ongoing updates and activations throughout the summer across digital and traditional channels.
