The Chennai Super Kings net bowler said team management instructed him to remove practice footage from social media as the BCCI increases monitoring around behind-the-scenes IPL content and restricted team environments.

Chennai Super Kings net bowler Jishan Adil has revealed that the franchise asked him to remove videos filmed inside the team camp, in a development that highlights the BCCI’s growing scrutiny around social media activity and behind-the-scenes content during IPL 2026. The move comes as franchises and league officials tighten controls around content creation involving players, training sessions and restricted team areas.

Adil shared the update through an Instagram story after several of his bowling clips from the CSK setup gained traction online. “Hi everyone, as you all know, I have been posting my bowling videos from the CSK camp and thanks to you all, they all got viral within a few days. Unfortunately, CSK management has asked me to remove the videos from my social media,” Jishan Adil posted.

The Delhi-based wrist-spinner, who has been part of the CSK camp as a net bowler, had uploaded practice videos featuring interactions with first-team players during training sessions. Some of the clips circulated widely across social media during the tournament.

BCCI increases monitoring around IPL content

The incident comes amid wider concerns within the IPL over unrestricted social media activity around teams and players. Officials have become increasingly cautious about videos, reels and informal behind-the-scenes content potentially exposing sensitive information from inside team environments.

“There have been a few breaches by a few commentators. One former international cricketer was found making videos on his phone near the dugout in a tense situation of a match,” a BCCI source said while speaking to The Times of India.

The board’s concerns now extend beyond players, with commentators, broadcasters, influencers and individuals operating around franchises also facing increased scrutiny during the tournament. Team environments, hotels and restricted-access areas have become a growing focus for league officials as the IPL attempts to tighten operational controls.

As previously reported by cricexec, the BCCI recently issued a seven-page advisory to IPL franchises introducing stricter monitoring around social media activity, restricted-area access and content emerging from team environments after multiple protocol concerns during IPL 2026. The advisory also reinforced tighter oversight around individuals operating near players, dressing rooms, dugouts and team hotels.

Franchises tighten internal controls

IPL franchises have simultaneously begun enforcing stricter internal rules around player-generated content and training footage during the season. The increasing caution reflects broader concerns around professionalism, operational discipline and unrestricted access within team camps.

Adil also acknowledged the franchise request in the same Instagram story. “Apologies for any inconveniences. I will keep posting good content in future as well. Thank you for all the support, please keep supporting!” Jishan Adil stated.

The latest developments underline how rapidly content creation around the IPL ecosystem has expanded in recent seasons, with players, net bowlers, creators and former cricketers increasingly documenting team activity across digital platforms. The BCCI’s latest measures indicate tighter oversight around social media content and restricted team environments is likely to remain a major focus for the remainder of IPL 2026.
