CWI and WIPA to host 8th Awards Gala in Barbados, honoring 50 years since West Indies’ 1975 World Cup triumph

Star-studded June 22 event at Wyndham Grand Sam Lord’s Castle to celebrate present-day excellence and golden legacy of West Indies cricket

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua: Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA) have announced the 8th CWI/WIPA Awards Gala, to be held on Sunday, 22 June 2025 at the historic Wyndham Grand Barbados Sam Lord’s Castle.

The high-profile event, which will be televised across the Caribbean, will recognize the top achievements in West Indies cricket while also commemorating the 50th anniversary of the West Indies’ historic 1975 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup triumph.

A celebration of past and present greatness

The gala will honor the performances and contributions of current players, while paying tribute to the legacy of West Indies’ cricketing legends who helped secure the region’s place in cricket history with their inaugural World Cup victory in 1975.

Dr. Kishore Shallow, President of CWI, stated:
