As the highly anticipated 18th season of the Indian Premier League beckons, Delhi Capitals has announced two new additions to its elite men’s team coaching staff, with Gnaneswara Rao and Anton Roux joining as fielding coaches ahead of IPL 2025. The duo will be working alongside Head Coach Hemang Badani, Assistant Coach Matthew Mott, and Bowling Coach Munaf Patel as part of the coaching staff.
Gnaneswara Rao has been a part of the Capitals family, having represented India Capitals in the Legends League, and also served as the Fielding Coach for the ILT20 title-winning Dubai Capitals. During his cricketing career, he played 23 T20 matches, scoring 429 runs at a strike rate of 123.98, and was also part of former IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala in the 2011 season.
Meanwhile former South African domestic player Anton Roux is known for his knack of helping young talent excel and brings a wealth of coaching experience. He has previously most notably served as the Proteas’ Bowling Coach and also as Sri Lanka’s Fielding Coach.
Delhi Capitals would like to welcome the duo onboard for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League which kickstarts in Visakhapatnam for the team on 24th March 2025.
