The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has unveiled the schedule for the DP World Women’s Asia Cup 2026, with the eight-team tournament set to take place at the Dubai International Stadium from August 28 to September 13. All 15 matches will be staged under lights at the same venue, starting at 6:30 p.m. local time, with India and Pakistan scheduled to meet in a high-profile Group A fixture on September 5.
The competition will feature 12 group-stage matches followed by two semi-finals and the final. Defending champions India have been placed alongside Pakistan, Thailand and Hong Kong, China in Group A, while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Indonesia make up Group B.

Eight teams compete for semi-final places
The group stage will run from August 28 through September 8, with each team facing the other three sides in its group. The top two teams from each pool will then progress to the semi-finals.
Thailand and Hong Kong, China will open the tournament on August 28, before Sri Lanka face hosts UAE the following day. India begin their title defence against Thailand on August 30, while Pakistan open their campaign against the same opposition on September 1.
The first semi-final will pit the winner of Group A against the second-placed team from Group B on September 10. The Group B winner will then face the Group A runner-up in the second semi-final on September 11, with the final scheduled for September 13.
India and Pakistan rivalry takes centre stage
The September 5 meeting between India and Pakistan will bring one of the tournament’s biggest rivalries to the Dubai International Stadium. The two teams have contrasting records in the continental competition, with India targeting an eighth Women’s Asia Cup title while Pakistan are still seeking their first.
Pakistan’s previous appearances in the final include defeats to India in 2012 and 2016. Across T20I editions of the Women’s Asia Cup, Pakistan’s only victory over India came in 2022.
Their most recent meeting came during the Women’s T20 World Cup earlier in 2026, when India recorded a 64-run victory in the group stage. The teams will now meet again in Dubai with places in the Asia Cup knockout stage at stake.
