Ellyse Perry, one of cricket’s greatest all-rounders, has re-signed with the Sydney Sixers for an additional three seasons, committing her long-term future to the club she helped build from its inception.

Perry, an iconic figure in Australian sport, has been a central force behind the Sixers’ success over the last decade. Her leadership and performances have guided the club to multiple WBBL Finals and championships in WBBL|02 and WBBL|03.

Perry’s decorated career continues in Sixers colours

With a storied resume that includes multiple ICC Women’s World Cup titles, six T20 World Cup victories, and a Commonwealth Games gold medal, Perry’s re-signing is a major boost for both the Sixers and the WBBL.

She recently led Royal Challengers Bengaluru to their first Women’s Premier League (WPL) title in 2024, finishing as the tournament’s top run-scorer.

One of WBBL’s most consistent and influential players

Perry currently ranks as the second-highest run-scorer in WBBL history with 4,689 runs, including two centuries and 33 fifties, along with 70 wickets. She was the league’s leading run-scorer last season with 424 runs.

A seven-time WBBL Team of the Tournament selection and named captain of the Team of the Decade, Perry continues to set the standard in domestic women’s cricket.

A strong squad under new head coach Matthew Mott

Perry joins a star-studded Sixers lineup for WBBL|11, including Alyssa Healy, Ash Gardner, Amelia Kerr, and emerging talents like Lauren Cheatle, Maitlan Brown, Courtney Sippel, and Caoimhe Bray. The team will be led by newly appointed head coach Matthew Mott.

Perry: “The club means so much to me”

Reflecting on her re-signing, Perry said:

“It’s lovely to have the opportunity to continue with the Sixers. The club means so much to me, especially having been here since the inception of the WBBL. I’m excited for the season ahead with Motty joining and such a talented group on our roster.”
