FanCode has secured exclusive digital streaming rights in India for the upcoming three-match T20I series between India and Afghanistan, adding another India cricket property to its expanding sports content portfolio. The series will be played on September 13, 15 and 17 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, with FanCode providing coverage across mobile, web and connected TV platforms.

The deal further strengthens FanCode’s relationship with the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) and continues the platform’s strategy of acquiring international cricket properties that attract Indian audiences. The series will also be available through FanCode’s distribution partners, including Jio TV/Jio TV+, Amazon Prime, Crex, Jagran, Playbox, Watcho, Tata Play Binge and Times Prime.

FanCode adds another India cricket property

The India-Afghanistan series represents another addition to FanCode’s growing cricket rights portfolio. The platform has expanded its presence across international cricket through partnerships covering multiple boards and competitions, while also building a wider sports catalogue beyond cricket.

The series will complete India’s bilateral engagements with Afghanistan across all three formats in 2026, following the Test and ODI meetings earlier in the year. With Afghanistan designated as the host under the Future Tours Programme, the series falls outside the BCCI’s home media rights framework, allowing FanCode to secure the Indian digital rights independently.

FanCode Co-Founder Yannick Colaco said in an official statement: “We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with the Afghanistan Cricket Board for the upcoming India tour of Afghanistan, bringing all the action to cricket fans across the country. After the India tour of Zimbabwe, securing another India series significantly strengthens our cricket offerings. We remain committed to our endeavour of bringing the best of global sport to Indian fans.”

ACB extends partnership with FanCode

For Afghanistan, the agreement provides another opportunity to connect with its growing Indian fan base through a major digital platform. The ACB has increasingly looked to partnerships that expand the visibility and accessibility of Afghanistan cricket in key markets.

Afghanistan Cricket Board CEO Naseeb Khan said in an official statement: “Our partnership with FanCode continues to grow, and we are pleased to extend it for this landmark series against India. Afghanistan cricket enjoys a strong and passionate following in India, and through FanCode’s extensive digital reach, we look forward to bringing our fans closer to the action and providing them convenient access to the series.”

The partnership also highlights the commercial importance of India-related cricket content for digital platforms. India national-team series attract significant audience interest, creating valuable opportunities for broadcasters, streaming platforms and commercial partners.

Digital cricket market continues to grow

FanCode’s acquisition comes as sports streaming platforms continue competing for premium cricket inventory in India. The platform’s portfolio includes international cricket, Formula 1, LALIGA, Saudi Pro League, MotoGP, ATP Tour and PGA Tour golf, alongside domestic and franchise competitions.

The India-Afghanistan T20I series will be distributed across FanCode’s own ecosystem as well as partner platforms, increasing accessibility for viewers across multiple digital services.

FanCode has also launched promotional activity around the series through its digital channels, highlighting the three-match contest featuring India and Afghanistan.

With the September series adding another India bilateral property to FanCode’s catalogue, the platform continues to strengthen its role in India’s competitive digital sports rights landscape.
