A landmark moment as PSL takes centre stage at Lord’s

For the first time in its history, the HBL Pakistan Super League is heading to the heart of cricketing tradition — Lord’s Cricket Ground. In what is being billed as a defining moment in the league’s global strategy, the PSL will host an exclusive London Roadshow, bringing together star players, business leaders, and international stakeholders under one roof.

Officially announced by the PCB, the event will serve as a platform to promote the league’s remarkable commercial rise and future expansion, as PSL prepares to grow from six to eight teams ahead of the 2026 season. The evening at Lord’s is designed to connect the PSL directly with global investors and fans, offering a window into one of the world’s fastest-growing T20 competitions.

“The London Roadshow aims to build on this momentum by offering investors and cricket lovers an immersive introduction to the league, its commercial ecosystem and the strategic vision driving its next phase of growth,” the PCB stated in a press release.

PSL brings Babar, Wasim and Ali Zafar to the Home of Cricket

In a move that underscores the league’s star power, the PSL has unveiled a celebrity-filled lineup for the Lord’s event. According to the league’s official social media announcement, “The #HBLPSL London Roadshow brings cricket’s biggest names to the Home of Cricket. Join us for an exclusive evening with Babar Azam, Haris Rauf, Sahibzada Farhan, Wasim Akram, Ramiz Raja & Ali Zafar.”

From iconic former cricketers to current stars and cultural ambassadors, the lineup is designed to draw both fanfare and commercial attention. It also signals PSL’s effort to engage a broader, UK-based audience as part of its global outreach.

A league with global ambition and growing investor appeal

The PSL’s decision to hold its showcase event at Lord’s reflects its international ambition and rising reputation among global T20 competitions.

“The HBL PSL stands as a symbol of excellence and ambition and taking this Roadshow to Lord’s – the heart of cricketing heritage, reflects our commitment to elevating Pakistan cricket on the global stage. We have seen tremendous interest from the UK market in the league’s new teams, which reinforces HBL PSL’s international appeal. This event is an important opportunity to deepen global partnerships and share our long-term vision for expansion and innovation. We look forward to welcoming investors and cricket enthusiasts in London,” said Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman PCB, in an official statement.

CEO HBL PSL Salman Naseer also emphasized the commercial strength and future outlook of the league in an official statement. “The HBL PSL has established itself as a world-class cricket league with a powerful global following and strong commercial value. Hosting our Roadshow at Lord’s allows us to bring investors closer to the league’s future roadmap, including exciting opportunities arising from the introduction of two new teams.”

He added that the league’s international pull is already yielding results: “The interest we are receiving from foreign investors is extremely encouraging and highlights the league’s growing reach. Our priority is to build a bigger, stronger and more internationally connected HBL PSL in the years ahead.”

PSL expansion on the horizon

The London Roadshow comes at a critical juncture for the league. After expanding to six teams in 2018 with the inclusion of Multan Sultans, PSL is now poised for its most significant structural change in seven years. The addition of two new franchises will take the league to eight teams in the 2026 season.

“The HBL PSL has rapidly evolved into one of the world’s most exciting and commercially robust T20 leagues. As the league prepares to expand with the addition of two new teams, it has already attracted significant interest from potential ownership groups across the United Kingdom – a testament to the PSL’s rising global profile and its strong connection with UK-based cricket stakeholders,” the PCB noted in its press release.

Beyond the investor-focused agenda, the roadshow also offers a unique opportunity for select fans to be part of the event. Thirty lucky superfans will be given access to this exclusive evening, further highlighting PSL’s commitment to creating immersive experiences around the sport.

As it enters a new era of growth, the PSL’s stop at Lord’s isn’t just symbolic — it’s strategic. With star power, commercial momentum, and global attention converging in London, the league is positioning itself not just as Pakistan’s premier cricket product, but as a global T20 powerhouse.
