Coach and Talent Specialist – North QLD
Townsville | Full-time

Queensland Cricket is looking for a Coach and Talent Specialist to support grassroots coaches, clubs, and schools across the greater Townsville region. This role is hands-on, community-based, and focused on helping junior cricket thrive in regional Queensland.
If you have experience in community sports and pathway program development, enjoy collaborating with volunteers, and aspire to make a significant impact at a local level, we would love to hear from you.
About the Role
You will work closely with community coaches, clubs, associations, and schools to support junior cricket programs and improve coaching capability across the region. Your work will help create positive, welcoming cricket experiences that encourage young players to stay involved and enjoy the game.
This is a relationship-driven role, with plenty of time spent out in clubs, at training, and in the community.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Building strong, trusted relationships with local clubs, associations, and schools
- Supporting volunteer coaches with practical advice, resources, and mentoring
- Helping clubs create inclusive, safe, and engaging training environments
- Planning and delivering coaching workshops and Community Coach Education courses
- Supporting junior representative programs and regional talent pathways
- Assisting with junior cricket formats and participation initiatives
- Be the infrastructure lead within your region, supporting relevant stakeholders with funding information and facility guidelines and standards
- Helping identify and support emerging talent within the region
About you
The successful applicant must have:
- Representative (Level 2) Coach Accreditation
- Demonstrable coaching experience with individuals and teams
- Experience in athlete talent identification and development processes
- Excellent at building relationships
- Ability to work flexibly
Essential Requirements
- Paid Blue Card (or ability to obtain prior to commencement)
- First Aid & CPR certification (or ability to obtain prior to commencement)
- Valid driver’s licence
