About Banstead Cricket Club
Banstead Cricket Club is one of the leading clubs in Surrey, with two excellent grounds on site in the middle of the town.
We currently have 350 juniors, with one of the fastest growing girls' divisions of over 100 female players.
The club is held out within Surrey as an exemplar of building an inclusive environment that allows the women and girls division to thrive
The Women's XI were promoted in their inaugural season in 2024, and in 2025 finished 2nd in Division 2 East of the Surrey Women's Cricket League
We want to be the standout club for women & girls in Surrey, playing at the highest level and with a clear pathway for our juniors into our senior sides.
Job Role: Women's 1st XI Player/Coach & Pathway Lead Coach
Reports to: Director of Cricket & Women's & Girls Lead
Weekly hours: Sunday match days, Monday and Wednesday evenings training. More evening hours coaching would be available.
Location: Banstead Cricket Club, Avenue Road, Banstead with travel to away
matches as per the cricket schedule.
Contract: 1 year rolling contract. Starting Early 2026.
Role & Responsibilities
• Developing a successful culture to maximise the on and off-field success of
the Women's 1st XI.
• Lead by example on the field
• Work closely with the Director of Cricket, Women's & Girls Lead and the Women's XI captain to identify girls capable of stepping up into senior cricket.
• Support the Director of Cricket & Women & Girls Lead with appraisals and player reviews.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essentials
• Demonstrate success of player development.
• ECB Level 2 Coaching qualification or equivalent.
* Proven track record as a player at a good level
• A clear and honest communicator, with a willingness to have tough conversations.
• Effective time management skills.
• Ability to motivate, persuade, support and influence individuals and teams.
• Ability to work within a team and to contribute to the overall success of the team and a Club as a whole.
• Commitment to keeping up to date with innovative coaching techniques and to proactively share knowledge.
• A positive and calm approach under pressure.
• A team player who can lead and inspire team to winning ways.
Desirables
• ECB Level 3 coaching qualification or equivalent.
