The Bangladesh Cricket Board is the national governing body for cricket in Bangladesh, responsible for the promotion and development of the game at all levels. With a dynamic and fast-growing cricket ecosystem, BCB plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the sport nationally and internationally.
Position Overview:
The Head of a Regional Cricket Center is responsible for overseeing all cricket development and administrative activities within a specific regional unit of the Bangladesh Cricket Board. This role serves as the primary link between grassroots cricket programs and the national system, ensuring that regional academies, tournaments, and coaching initiatives function effectively. The position requires strong leadership to manage regional teams, talent identification, infrastructure operations, and compliance with BCB’s governance and development framework.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Regional Program & Tournament Management
- Plan, organize, and supervise all BCB-approved regional tournaments, academies, camps, and coaching programs within the Region.
- Ensure proper scheduling, match operations, logistics, and venue preparedness for all competitions and training activities.
- Coordinate with Regional and District Cricket Associations to expand structured and inclusive participation.
- Implement standardized coaching curriculum and development methodologies as prescribed by BCB.
- Promote school cricket, women’s cricket, youth cricket, and All-Ability Cricket initiatives across the region.
- Ensure timely submission of tournament reports, statistics, and development outcomes to BCB Headquarters.
2. Talent Identification & Development
- Act as the primary feeder system to the national youth and high-performance programs.
- Oversee scouting during regional and district tournaments to identify promising players.
- Support coaching programs that prepare players for first-class and international cricket.
- Maintain accurate player databases to track performance and growth.
3. Infrastructure & Facility Oversight
- Manage regional academies, grounds, and practice facilities.
- Ensure facilities are maintained to professional standards and meet safety and compliance protocols.
- Supervise equipment availability and maintenance.
4. Governance & Administration
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the regional cricket center, including staff and financial management.
- Ensure compliance with BCB’s rules, policies, and reporting requirements.
- Provide transparent documentation of budgets, tournaments, and player development outcomes.
- Maintain accountability for regional cricket activities and resource usage.
5. Stakeholder & Community Engagement
- Act as the liaison between regional cricket stakeholders and BCB headquarters.
- Build relationships with schools, districts, local authorities, and sponsors to expand regional cricket.
- Promote cricket at grassroots level by encouraging participation in rural and urban communities.
- Represent the regional unit in BCB meetings, workshops, and national initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or related discipline.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in cricket administration, sports development, program management and community sports.
- Knowledge of cricket operations and ability to advocate for regional cricket and secure partnerships/sponsorships.
- Strong organizational, governance, compliance, event management, financial management and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and cricket administration tools.
- Experience in coordinating with NGOs, sponsors, or grassroots organizations is an advantage.
- Experience in talent identification and youth cricket development is an advantage.
