Position Title : Manager, Match Officials
Organization: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB)
Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh
Reports to: Head of Cricket
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview :

Leads the development, appointments, and performance management of match officials, ensuring governance, education, and integrity standards are upheld across domestic and international cricket.

Key Accountabilities :

  1. Recruitment & Appointments
  • Develop and implement meritocracy based and transparent systems for selecting and appointing umpires, referees, and scorers.
  • Manage appointments of officials for domestic tournaments and support international match assignments.
  • Ensure compliance with ICC standards in the timely appointment of match officials.
  1. Training & Development
  • Design and deliver umpiring courses, workshops, and refresher programs in collaboration with ICC
    and Umpire Coaches.
  • Facilitate career pathways for officials from grassroots to elite levels.
  • Develop specialized training modules for referees and scorers.
  • Oversee the implementation of Accreditation programs that support and align with the pathway
    qualification and minimum standards required for match officials.
  1. Performance Evaluation & Mentorship
  • Implement structured performance assessment systems for officials, providing annual performance feedback to BCB match officials.
  • Deploy umpire coaches/assessors to provide constructive feedback.
  • Identify and mentor emerging match officials to build a future elite pool.
  1. Governance & Integrity
  • Draft, review, and update playing conditions, officiating guidelines, and codes of conduct.
  • Ensure compliance with ICC and BCB integrity protocols.
  • Coordinate with ACU on anti-corruption education and disciplinary matters.
  1. Stakeholder Liaison & Reporting
  • Act as BCB’s key contact with BCB/ICC/ACC on umpiring and officiating matters.
  • Maintain effective communication with regional cricket associations.
  • Prepare reports on officiating standards, appointments, and training for the Head of Cricket and
    BCB Board committees.

Qualifications & Experience :

• Master’s degree in Sports Management, Law, or related field. (Preferred)
• At least 5–10 years’ experience in cricket administration, officiating, or governance.
• Proven track record in managing officials, tournaments, or cricket operations.
• Strong knowledge of ICC rules, playing conditions, and integrity protocols.
• Experience in training and capacity-building programs desirable.
