1. Job Details:
Position Title: Member of the Junior Cricket Committee
Number of Positions: 5 (Five)
2. Role Purpose:
Selection of all age group teams up to Under 22 years for the purpose of coaching camps or for playing against local or foreign teams within India or abroad in any format of the game.
3. Key Accountabilities:
Main job duties/responsibilities:
• Select the best possible team in a fair and transparent manner.
• Plan and prepare a strong bench strength for the respective age group teams.
• Attend Team meetings as and when required.
• Travel to watch Domestic and International matches.
• Be responsible for vetting and selecting Coaches and Support Staff (physiotherapists, trainers, therapists, analysts, and medics) for the respective teams.
• Prepare and provide evaluation reports of the respective team performances to the Apex Council of BCCI on a quarterly basis.
• Address the media on team selection as and when instructed by BCCI.
• Appoint Captain for the team in each format.
• Organise and conduct junior tournaments of the BCCI.
• Organise junior tours of foreign countries.
• Decide any disputes in regard to junior tournaments.
• Inculcate proper ethics in the youth, particularly through interactions with senior and former Players on issues such as drugs, betting and match-fixing, etc.
• Adhere to the rules and regulation of BCCI
4. Qualifications & Experience:
• Former Players who have played minimum 25 First Class games; and
• Should have retired from the game at least 5 years previously
• No person who has been a member of any Cricket Committee (as defined in the Memorandum of Association and Rules and Regulations of BCCI) for a total of 5 years shall be eligible to be a member of Junior Cricket Committee.
