Role Purpose
SA20 Season 5 is coming, and we're building a team of sharp, creative photographers to capture every moment of Betway SA20. From the explosive game action, the raw sideline emotion and the jubilant fan energy, we want to capture it all. We’re looking for photographers who can read the game, anticipate the moment before it happens, and freeze the intensity of SA20 in a single frame.
You'll be on the ground across match days capturing fast-paced action, decisive plays, candid fan moments, and the behind-the-scenes stories that give SA20 its personality - from the dugout to the stands to the walk-out. The Photographer reports to the Photography Manager for briefing, match-day rostering, and delivery standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Match & Event Coverage
• Capture fast-paced match action, key moments, and game-defining plays across the fixture you are rostered to.
• Photograph team portraits and official squad imagery as briefed.
• Capture candid behind-the-scenes moments, crowd energy, and sideline emotion that bring the competition to life.
2. Delivery & Standards
• Deliver a fast, reliable turnaround of quality images during the match
• Submit images with correct file naming, metadata, and tagging as directed by the
Photography Manager.
• Work within the shot list and brand requirements briefed ahead of each fixture.
• At times, provide a unique and creative perspective to your photography
3. On-the-Day Conduct
• Arrive on time and fully equipped for accreditation, pitch-side positioning, and match
protocols.
• Work safely and cooperatively alongside broadcast, commercial, and other media
personnel at the venue.
• Adapt to varying outdoor and indoor lighting conditions across different venues.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential
• Proven experience shooting sports or fast-action photography.
• Professional gear, with a fast telephoto lens preferred for cricket action
• Comfortable working in varying outdoor and indoor lighting conditions.
• Fast, reliable turnaround on images.
Desirable
• Previous experience shooting cricket or other franchise sport in South Africa.
• A genuine passion for and an understanding of the global franchise cricket landscape.
• Availability across multiple SA20 host cities.
Personal Attributes
• Sharp and fast-moving, able to anticipate and react to live match action.
• Reliable and professional, with strong communication with the Photography Manager.
• Comfortable working under pressure and to tight turnaround deadlines.
• Flexible and available to work outside standard hours to align with match schedules.
• A genuine team player who contributes positively to a shared culture of excellence.
