Role Purpose
The Head of Performance Services, reporting to the GM, National Teams, is a senior leadership role of seven direct reports, responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, integration, and delivery of Sports Science, Sports Medicine (SSSM) and performance technology services across Australian Cricket (AC).
Based at the National Cricket Centre (NCC) in Brisbane, the Head of Performance Services will work with Cricket Australia’s (CA) National Teams and as an influential leader across the High-Performance network, the role ensures world-class support of AC’s elite athletes through performance analysis, athlete management, fitness, injury prevention and rehabilitation, wellbeing strategies and performance psychology. By leading people, systems, and data-driven innovation, and collaborating with technology and High-Performance leaders, the role will ensure players and coaches are provided world class SSSM and performance technology support to enhance performance.
The Head of Performance Services role contributes directly to CA’s Inspirational Players and Teams pillar, ensuring that our Players have access to best-in-class services to enable them to perform at their best.

Key Position Requirements
Essential skills, competencies and experience
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with strong ability to develop leadership in others through coaching, mentoring, rewarding and guiding
- Demonstrated experience in system-level leadership and outstanding stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive strategic performance outcomes.
- Proven ability to oversee a program that builds organisational capacity in data literacy and applied analytics
- Knowledge of biomechanical or load monitoring tools used in cricket (e.g. Catapult)
- Understanding of player identification and development frameworks used in pathway and high-performance programs
- Clear thinker whilst managing disparate and diverse requirements, including the ability to manage tensions and trade-offs
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations/environments, able to balance multiple priorities and remain focused and clear
- Proven ability to develop and implement contemporary health and sport sciences practices
- Previous experience in managing the planning, development and delivery of change and communication activities
- Demonstrated leadership, collaboration and creative thinking skills as well as excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills
- Credibility and influencing skills
- Commercial awareness
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Physiotherapy, Exercise Science, Sports Science, Sport Technology and Analytics or related field
- Postgraduate qualifications in leadership, performance science, or health systems (preferred)
- Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in elite sport or high-performance environments, with at least 3 years in a proven leadership role.
