ABOUT THE ROLE

The PR Specialist works closely with media, marketing, fan engagement and partners to engage media and drive attendance amongst multicultural communities at the cricket this summer. This role also includes responsibility for men’s domestic cricket media and PR.

We seek a PR Specialist within our Digital, Marketing and Communications department. We’re looking for someone to deliver smart, integrated campaigns driving media and community engagement with our multicultural fans. It’s a critical role coordinating and delivering for our media and community stakeholders.

We have big ambitions for this space, so we’re looking for drive, passion, and energy to bring our plans to life.

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager- Fan Engagement you’ll be responsible for:

  •  Build a multicultural media strategy, that includes regular engagement and activity to promote the summer of cricket.
  •  Act as Media Operations and Communications Lead for International and Domestic tours and matches.
  • Support the delivery of Australian Cricket's upcoming Multicultural Action Plan, including initiatives aligned to communications and community engagement.
  • Structure a content plan to capitalise on the best storytelling opportunities via owned and earned channels to grow player connection and affinity to Australian cricket.
  • Help deliver community engagement events for multicultural communities, including but not limited to cultural and community events and trophy tours to drive media outcomes.
  • Drive stories from multicultural communities across community, pathways, and elite.
  • Build relationships with media across the cricket season.
  • Create and implement communications plan and media opportunities for Australia teams/matches.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  •  A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in media and communications
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications: e.g. Communications, Marketing degree
  • Demonstrated experience in sport or a PR agency delivering large-scale promotional plans
  • Demonstrated experience in gaining positive coverage for events
  • Experience with working with multicultural media outlets
  • Excellent collaboration skills
  • Excellent written communication, organisational skills and strong attention to detail
